J-LEKTRO, DJ

A native of the South Side, who grew up in a family of musicians, including a grandfather who recorded for Chess, Jamian considers himself deeply rooted in Chicago’s musical history. Performing, he pays homage to that legacy by including genres representative of the city,  especially house. He cites early pioneers such as  Frankie Knuckles and Larry Heard as key influences and will include house remixes of classic tracks in his sets. And, with the international clientele at Adorn, he sees an opportunity to tell a story about Chicago through music, although his selections are also global in scope, with anything from Giorgio Moroder to Kaytranada and Disclosure.
